Photo of the Week: Sharing is Caring!

Happy Monday, everyone!

So this weekend I decided it would be a good idea to severely sprain my ankle while helping to set up the Fall Carnival we held at Anna's day care. You wouldn't think that would impact my blogging plans....but it did. I have had little time to actually elevate it and care for it properly, and even less time for writing.  I hope to get something else out today, but until then, here's the Photo of the Week, which I call "Sharing is Caring!"

Friday Fun: Photo of the Week!

This week's "Friday Fun" is also our Photo of the Week.

Normally when I see adults dressed up in children's character costumes (unless, of course, it's Halloween), I'm a little creeped out.  Like when we saw giant Elmo, Cookie Monster, Sponge Bob and a few other friends wandering around the streets of Manhattan, waving at kids while cleverly seeking money.

However, this time it cracked me up!

Even Big Bird wanted to weigh in on the budget debacle.

Creepy? Maybe a little. But the weirdness factor is outdone by the humor, I think.

Please send us your funny photos for our Photo of the Week, or your kids' funny sayings for Friday Fun. The more contributors we have, the more fun it will be!

Keeping Up With The Joneses

We human beings, by nature, have a competitive drive.  We compete with each other in sports and schoolwork.  We compete for promotions at work and for recognition in the community.

And when we have kids, sometimes they become wrapped up in our competitiveness too.

It’s that time of year again – it’s almost Anna’s birthday.

Friday Fun: Anna's Snuggly Friends - A Photo Essay

I was a collector and hoarder of stuffed animals as a child. I absolutely loved them and kept many of them through my teenage years. So, understandably, I get it that Anna loves stuffed, snuggly friends and I often buy them for her.

Perhaps this is my little reminder to myself NOT to buy Anna any more, at least for the time being, because it’s clear she already has more friends than any kid needs.  Here are some of Anna’s friends in these first 3 years:
