I Heart My iPhone

Greetings. I am back from the "undead." Which is translation for, I have felt like a total zombie for months and am finally starting to reenter the land of the living. I hope!

I feel as though I have missed so much these last few months as I have adjusted to the routine of waking early, traveling all over the state for trials, coming home to take care of my baby and our house, and then settling down for a long winter's nap before I do it all again. Rinse, lather, repeat. But now I think I have gotten the hang of it, at least to the largest degree possible, so I am going to make a valiant effort to reclaim some time and space in my life for things I enjoy, this blog being near the top of that list.

To that end, today I am pausing to reflect on and enjoy a moment of gratitude for my iPhone.

No More Distraction

Distraction is inevitable....to some extent. Ours is a fast-paced world that prizes productivity and multitasking, so finding ourselves distracted at times from the task at hand is unavoidable.

Except when it comes to our kids, that is.

You see, the kind of distraction I'm talking about is the technology-induced, smart phone-related kind. It's the temptation we all seem to have (yes, myself included) to check our Facebook account or e-mail or text messages with an often ridiculous frequency. Let's face it, there's probably nothing new from your last check-in a minute ago.

And, more importantly, while you're reading notifications and status updates and junk e-mail messages, your kids are there, waiting for your undivided attention.

Do they get it?

Other than for picture taking, we really don't need phones at the beach...

The Wisdom and Legacy of Steve Jobs

Everyone, myself included, seems to be mourning the loss of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, a man who led a technological revolution for which we're all grateful.  My daily routine would be a lot different without my iPhone, iPod, iPad and Macbook Pro. I'm sure the same is true of many of you.

But what's really remarkable is that so many people are realizing what an amazing person Steve Jobs was, with an amazing and inspiring attitude as he fought cancer and faced death.  Fortunately for us, he shared some really wonderful stuff - besides all those awesome gadgets - with the world, and I wanted to share some of that wisdom with you.

What Will They Think of Next?!

I'm addicted to my iPhone.  It is constantly with me, except for some occasions when I'm with Anna.

One fun thing about the iPhone is all of the awesome accessories you can get for it. I have a pretty basic case.  Because it has taken some hits (usually courtesy of Anna) and now has a faded, wrinkled Toy Story sticker on the back of it (also courtesy of Anna), I am in the market for a new, and hopefully tougher, case.

To infinity, and beyond!

Friday Fun: Who's The Boss??

Women run my life. I make no secret of this fact. What’s funny is that, lately, the smallest and youngest of them all has been the most vocal. As long as my mini-dictator is by my side, nothing can go wrong…right?
