Get to know the usual suspects who frequently appear in my posts:
"The Pie"

Anna
Also known as “The Pie,” she is the wonderful, spirited little girl who became my daughter and turned my world around. As is obvious, to a large extent, this blog is her story. It may be told from my point of view, but she’s the one who generously provides much of the material! She is way too smart for her age (almost 7!) and is outgoing, loving, sweet, and incredibly mischievous. She's a voracious reader and loves to write her own stories too. Annapie is the center of my universe and I am continually amazed at the little person she is becoming.

Mama Heidi
My partner of 10 plus years - who is now legally my wife!! - is my better half and my favorite companion. Although she’s sarcastic and opinionated (which actually manages to be endearing… most of the time…), underneath the tough exterior beats the heart of a compassionate, generous person who would do anything (and has!) for those she loves. She is also an attorney and is a wonderful writer whose editing capabilities I am certainly grateful for – and I bet you are too!

Kelsey
Heidi’s grown-up daughter, who has become my daughter too. She gets her sarcasm and wit from her mother! Right now, she is working at a hospital and contemplating a degree in social work, or whatever else she becomes interested in along the way. She’s smart and creative and great at art – one of Anna’s favorite drawings is the Elmo that Kelsey drew for her, which is posted on Anna’s bedroom door. She’s got an awesome future ahead of her and now she is a great MOM herself! Anna loves her big sister!
Uncle Keith
Also known as “Tech Support,” he is one of my very best friends. He’s one of the primary reasons this blog came into being. Anna adores Uncle Keith because he loves spending time with her and plays with her in the cardboard house he keeps for our visits! We also go on fun outings together and when we haven’t visited him in awhile, Anna says she misses him “sooooo much.” Anna will pretend she is calling Uncle Keith, and she thinks this website is cool because he “made me into a pie!”

Beary
Beary is Anna's snuggly best friend and constant companion. He goes everywhere - and I mean everywhere - with us. And he looks like it too! A present from Anna's grandparents for her 2nd birthday, Beary is always by Anna's side and basically feels like a member of the family. He gets dinner and goodnight hugs and kisses too. :)
Emmett
Our overgrown puppy who doubles as a "horse" when Anna decides to ride on his back! He's one very patient dog! Not the brightest bulb, but he is sure cute and wonderfully lovable, and Anna is crazy about him.
Tika
She is our beautiful kitty, who rules the roost and loves to taunt Emmett that she can get in the bed and he can't! Anna loves her and is practicing her "gentle touches." I think Tika is more intimidated by Anna's enthusiasm than Emmett's!
Pixie
After months of begging, and attempts to placate her with 2 hermit crabs and a fish, we finally broke down and let Anna adopt a kitten. She's about 8 months old and totally crazy, which means she fits right in to our family! She's also quite patient with Anna, even when she puts doll clothes on her, which amazes me.
