If you too know and love a first grader, you'll know that their interests are always changing! This tab will feature Anna's current snuggly "best friends" and book/ cartoon interests. Please feel free to share your kids' favorites with us as well!
Perry the Platypus (a/k/a "Agent P")
Perry, the unique pet of Phineas and Ferb on the show of the same name, is an ordinary platypus by day (well, except he lives in the suburbs with children). But when the kids are having their daily adventures, Perry slyly slips away to fulfill his role as Agent P, the secret fighter of evil perpetuated by Dr. Doofenshmirtz. We love Perry!
Harry Potter
He is The Boy Who Lived. Everyone even in the Muggle world knows his name - and so, too, does Anna. She is completely fascinated by the wizarding world and is not scared at all by the power of his particular brand of magic (as I might well have been at her age). It is amazing to me that this super-energetic child with ADHD loves these stories so much that she has successfully sat through my reading the entire books to her, several chapters at a time. Currently we are over halfway through book 4! That is quite an achievement for her.
Kung Fu Panda
Kung Fu Panda, the cuddly Po, is a hero everyone can love. His is an awesome story of the average every day person, er, animal, finding a hidden talent and strength within and becoming a hero. Although beware, your kids may watch and then decide to demonstrate their own "martial arts" skills - on YOU!
Minions!!
These adorable little guys from the movie Despicable Me are hilarious! In a reversal from our usual trend, Anna first became interested in the toys because they were offered in Happy Meals, and then became curious about the movie afterward. But I'm glad she did - it's an awesome movie and so is the sequel, Despicable Me 2, which is now in theaters!
