Photo of the Week: Bike Ride!

Anna was very excited last night to go on her first ever bike ride beyond the confines of our driveway!  She even took along her binoculars for whatever adventure might find us.

Nothing's gonna stop me now!

I predict it won't be long before the training wheels come off altogether!  I hope you get to enjoy some summer bike rides with your kids too!

Hope you all are well-rested after the long holiday weekend!  I can't believe the end of summer is drawing near. While I admit I am (mostly) looking forward to the changing leaves and cool air, I will be sad when it's too cold for trips to the playground. Photo of the Week: Hey Batter, Batter!

Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a fabulous weekend.

We're kicking off another work week with our photo(s) of the week. Having been a big baseball fan in my younger years, when I encountered a giant plastic bat and ball at the grocery store last week for only $3.50, I couldn't resist.

Anna was so excited to get home from school to find the bat and ball waiting for her. Thankfully, it was a lovely evening so we could practice in the yard. I should get her a tee when I'm able to, but in the meantime, hopefully this bat is fat enough that she can learn to hit with it!

Summertime, And The Livin' Is Easy....

Sometimes I miss living in a place that actually has seasons, you know, like spring and fall. Watching everything change is something I’ve always enjoyed.  But now that I’m up north, there’s a saying that our four seasons are “winter, winter, mud and construction.”  It’s only partially a joke!  Our very long, cold winters are pretty rough. 

But it’s all worth it when summer rolls around.  Everyone seems happier, despite the increased traffic of tourism and road renovation projects everywhere you turn.  People relax on their decks with drinks and have barbeques and backyard fires and visit the many gorgeous beaches and lakes here. There’s an abundance of delicious seafood and canoeing and camping and other fun outdoor options for kids.
