Photo of the Week: End-of-Summer Fun

Hope you all are well-rested after the long holiday weekend!  I can't believe the end of summer is drawing near. While I admit I am (mostly) looking forward to the changing leaves and cool air, I will be sad when it's too cold for trips to the playground. Here's some end-of-summer silliness for this week's Photo of the Week.

Playground Life Lessons

They spend a ton of time together.  They have a great time. They like to do many of the same things.  But sometimes, they squabble over the way those things should be done. Sometimes, they just don’t want to share. Sometimes, they want to be alone.  Always, they eventually make up and start getting along again.

Are they an old married couple, you may ask?  Actually, they are toddler buddies.  But we old married couples could learn a lot from them.

Monkey See, Monkey Do!

Kids are copycats.  It’s just natural.  Half the time, I don’t even realize Anna is absorbing words and phrases of ours until I hear them repeated back to me.  I know she didn’t come up with “I’m making coffee for my presentation” on her own. (Hilarious, though, isn’t it?!)

So it’s no surprise that, sponges as they are, our kids pick up behaviors and language from their friends as well.  My Pie goes to a wonderful day care and I am so happy she’s making lots of friends.  She bonds equally well with boys and girls, which is good, and I know all of her friends by name.
