It was bedtime, on a night like any other night. Which means that, as usual, there was major stalling going on.  This evening's particular stalling involved Anna taking numerous pictures of me with my cell phone.  Then we took funny pictures together.  And then it was really bedtime.

As we lay snuggling, she turns to me and says, "Do you know why I took all those pictures of you?"

"No, why?" I say, waiting for something hilarious.

"Because I want lots of pictures of you for when you're gone."

What?

I thought we were just having fun....

Friday Fun: Little Picassos!

The other day while dropping Anna off at day care, I had the pleasure of spending some time with her little friends as well. They are such adorable kids! Anna decided she wanted to draw me a picture to bring to work, and then a little boy walked up to me and gave me a picture he had just drawn and said, "This is for you, too!" (I know the names of everyone in Anna's class but I don't publish them without talking to their parents first so we'll keep them anonymous this time.)

Halloween Recap

Good morning!  Who's tired from a night full of canvassing neighborhoods with adorable costumed kids in tow?  I know I am.

But it's worth it for the glee on little faces as they yell "trick-or-treat!" and the joy in their steps as they carry plastic orange pumpkin buckets full of candy. Anna (aka Ord the dragon) had a blast trick-or-treating with her friends Jacobi (aka Curious George) and Izzy B (aka The Princess of Color and Everything).

"Hurry up so I can have my candy!"

Evidence of Love

I have a “thought for the day” type of calendar on my desk at work.  Heidi gave it to me for Christmas and I look forward to checking it out every day. Sometimes there are things I’ve thought of already, sometimes it’s a tad preachy for my taste (especially first thing in the morning, pre-coffee!), and then sometimes there’s something that really resonates with me.

Today’s calendar thought was about “evidence of love,” and it’s certainly the latter type of entry. Sometimes it’s the simplest things that mean the most, and I appreciate reminders to stop and examine things in a new way.
