Friday Fun: The Alien Crab Invasion

Happy Friday! Hope you enjoy this latest foray into the amazing place that is the preschooler imagination.

Anna:    I had a dream about a crab.
Me:    What happened in your dream?
Anna:    The crab was taken away from its mom and dad.
Me:    Who took it? [This is the part where I expected to hear "seagulls".]
Anna:   Aliens. They took it in their spaceship because they wanted a curtain.

Me:    What happened to it?
Anna:    They whooshed it up into space and - and they took it! They wouldn't give it back. It was in their big ship and all the aliens looked at him because they had a plan to keep him in outer space and make a curtain.

...one giant leap for crabkind? (Photo by Tampen from flickriver.com)

Me:    Sounds scary. Was he scared?
Anna:    No, he was brave. He had pinchers. But then they destroyed him!
Me:    I bet his mom and dad were sad.
Anna:    No, they weren't. They got him back.
Me:    I thought the aliens destroyed him...?
Anna:    Well, they decided they wanted a different curtain so they took him home. Then they looked for a crab with lots of colors, all the colors of the rainbow, for their curtain.
Me:    [nodding, speachless.]

Rainbow land crab. Watch out, dude, you're next! (from reptileforums.co.uk)

I just love happy endings, don't you?

[As an aside, I was surprised to find that rainbow crabs actually exist, and shocked to actually get results when I searched for "image crab in space."  LOL.]
