Friday Fun: Storytime with Anna

Happy Friday! And now, without further delay, I present a story created by my daughter. She claims this was a dream, but as she recounted it, I think she started to make it up/ imbellish as she went along.

We hope you enjoy this foray into the mind of a four year old.

You won't believe the stuff I come up with!

"There are beautiful unicorns in a beautiful world. At a giant fair they're selling unicorns and ponies. There's a guy that doesn't care about the earth; he is making a joke and wants everything to be yucky and dirty.  He wants nobody to care about anything!

Then there was a big giant storm and the bad guy didn't care about anything like that, he just wanted the ponies' magical unicorn tops to make him powerful.  The ponies wanted to hide but there was no single place to hide, unless you meet the tree topper. He can tell you where to hide.

He has a special hiding place for people and aminals who need to hide. It's in a big tree with a little door hole that opens and every aminal that needs help can hide, and tricked aminals too.  The tree topper knows if you are tricked or not tricked. And he knows what's best for aminals."

There you have it. Quite the imagination, huh? In case you were wondering, this seems to have been partly inspired by the Lorax, which we had just watched that morning, and the Care Bears cartoons, which contained a fair and a bad guy. We watched those the night before.

Despite those influences, there's a lot of natural preschool creativity in there. I like the environmentally conscious good guy, who's also animal-friendly (or "aminal," as the case may be). You can see why I LOVE storytime with Anna!
