"There are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child. There are seven million." ~Walt Streightiff
For posterity’s sake, I thought it would be appropriate to devote an occasional post to documenting some of the random cute things that Anna comes up with, from inventing new words to expressing adorable thoughts. Please feel free to share things your kids have come up with in the comments!
Anna-isms
- Huggle – this is exactly what it seems, a snuggle within a giant bear hug. She loves to fall asleep with her face smushed against yours and gives the best hugs in the whole world!
- Boogie Joe – maybe this is one word, I really don’t know…I think this is her 2nd imaginary friend. She says he is a person and she pushed him on the swing the other day. Mysterious!
- Sicket – this used to be music. Now she’s got it figured out, though.
Deep Thoughts
- (Anna is intently going through tons of Dora the Explorer playing cards when told it’s time for bed.) “Just a minute, I have to figure out what comes after Tuesday.” Speechless.
- “I’m the line leader and you’re the boss!” Ok, I can deal with this.
- “I won’t give up on you, never ever!” (Awww, my kiddo is as loyal as Sheriff Woody!)
- “So tomorrow, you go to school, I go to work. That sound fun?” YES!!!
- “I love you all the way back and moon.” I love you all the way back and moon, too.
- “I am sooooo happy AND glad!” Don’t you wish we could all be happy AND glad?
- “Anna goes first, you have turn AFTER.” ‘Nuff said.
- “That’s not very nice alligator.” (A gentle reprimand for eating her donut.)
- "Baa Baa black sheep, have you any wool? Yes sir, yes sir, 3 bags full. One for the master, one for the dame...one for the little people who live downstairs"..... um, who are they? And do they help with chores??
- “T workin’ da money.” Doesn’t take them long to figure it out, does it?
- “Let’s watch froggy piggy rats!” (The Muppets Take Manhattan)
- “Nobody perfeck!” So true.
- “Hold you me, please please!” ☺
- “Can I have some pinecone juice?” If you find some, I’d like to see it!
- (Seeing Gonzo and Camilla the chicken come on screen while watching Muppets In Space) “Gonzo, yay! … And Chicken Nugget.” Free association is awesome.
Thanks for sharing - too cute!! I miss having little ones!! I became a mom at 18. My "kids" are now 25 and 20. I always said I should write some of the cute things they said down, but never did. Occasionally someone will remind me, "Remember when Alex did...?" One thing Alex said that I DO remember, (I think he was 3 at the time), my friend brought her newborn over for a visit. He was ooing and awwing over her, and said, "Isn't she beautiful?" "YES!" he said. I said, "Maybe when you grow up you can marry her." He looked at me as if I was nuts and said said very sternly, "NO WAY..I'd never marry a baby!" I guess he didn't realize that she'd grow up too! :)

I love it! Those moments are priceless. And they make for good teasing material years later!
