It's Our Anniversary!

Happy Monday!

I just wanted to start off this new week by noting an important milestone. Yes, Heidi and I are very happy to have celebrated our 7th anniversary on Friday, June 1, and we're really proud of that. But I'm talking about the blog - we have an anniversary too!

June 1, 2011 was the first day I posted anything on My Life With Pie. I had a vision of what I thought the experience might be like, but I never could've imagined then that it would be as fun and as challenging as it's been to maintain this blog. I didn't know whether my words would resonate with people, how large (or small) an audience I'd have, what the response would be, how much material I was capable of generating - it was all a big question mark.

Well, 307 posts later, I'm thrilled with how it's going. In its one year of existence, the blog has had approximately 39,169 page views (and counting!). We've reached readers all over the globe, including in Canada, the Netherlands, the U.K., the Ukraine, Russia, China, the Philippines and many other countries, which really blows my mind. I'm so glad people in countries besides the U.S. are checking out our posts and that we have such a diverse readership. It's amazing how connected I feel to people all over the place just by writing from my little corner of the U.S.

I'm sure people check out the blog for a variety of reasons - for advice about parenting issues, the occasional humor, discussion of serious topics, for the cute pics, for updates on Annapie's growth, or maybe because our little family's story resonates with people. Whatever the reason(s) may be, I'm so grateful to all of you who read the posts, and to those friends who have supported me in this endeavor with your advice, feedback, comments, and referrals of our page to others.

I also want to say a special "thank you" to Uncle Keith, without whom the blog would not be a reality. I'm so grateful to him for setting up this web site for me, making it look cool, providing technical support and advice, and updating it from time to time. Hopefully we can come up with some new updates soon to kick off our second year.

Although the blog is certainly a fun creative outlet for me, and hopefully a unique chronology of her life for Anna to look back on and enjoy, it wouldn't have as much meaning if nobody read it. So please keep tuning in, tell your friends, share our posts, and check us out on Facebook and Twitter. Your support means more than you know. I'm excited to kick off our second year!
