The title says it all. And when you finish reading this article, I bet you'll feel a little morning outrage too.
I hadn't even finished my first cup of coffee when I came across this ridiculous story about a mother who left her five-week-old baby - strapped into a car seat - on the roof of her car and then drove off. ON THE ROOF. And she DROVE OFF.
First of all, why the hell would you put your child on the roof of your car to begin with?! And second of all, how could you drive away and "forget" to put your kid in the car - and not realize it until you got home? Seriously?? Thankfully the baby, who fell into an intersection still in the seat, is "okay," though I'm not sure how that is possible. A miracle, I guess.
I'll keep my comments about how tragic it is that some people can reproduce to myself.
We all have bad days as parents. We all make mistakes. Sometimes those mistakes are terrible and have terrible consequences too. Accidents happen. Mistakes do too. But this isn't a mistake in my book. It's not even simple negligence. This is pure, abject stupidity. Check it out. Tell us what you think.
Is there any defense for this young mother at all? Should it even be relevant that she's young? Heidi was a young mom too and she never left Kelsey on top of her car and drove off. How relevant is her marijuana smoking, if at all? Discuss!
Smoking weed would not be cause for someone leaving their kid on the roof. That kind of drug is called CRACK COCAINE.
ReplyDeleteI think it's awful to have smoked weed around the kid, but I also don't think that's the reason she did this. Maybe it played a part in her lack of judgment, but I really think it's just pure stupidity and carelessness. She seems pretty self-absorbed. The kid shouldn't have been moved around at midnight anyway. All of it says irresponsible mother to me. I hope they find the little boy a good, loving home. The kind where they put him IN the car when they go places.
