Disclaimer: Some of today's material involves, well, "girl stuff." Which means you boys or squeamish people may not find it as amusing as I do. But then again, you might!
Like her favorite cartoon monkey, Curious George, Anna is curious - about anything and everything. So, it comes as no surprise that she has all sorts of questions about women's bodies and the products we use.

Here are some of our recent conversations with her about these "sensitive" topics:
- [Anna is in the bathroom with Heidi and looks under the sink. She pulls out a box of tampons.] "Mama Heidi, what are these?" Heidi: "Those are Mama T's tampons." Anna: "What are they for?" Heidi: "They're for when she gets her period." Anna: "Do you have a period too?" Heidi: "No, not anymore." Anna: "Did you give it away?" LOL.
- [I come out of the shower to find Anna sticking Kotex panty liners to the bathroom floor in a line.] Me: "What are you doing?!" Anna: "Making a funny face." *face palm*
- The conversation continues: Me: "Anna, you're not supposed to play with these, we need them." Anna: "Like I need pull-ups sometimes, right?" Me: "Right...I guess."
- Anna (holding up a tampon): "Do you need this for your girl thing?" Me (laughing): "No thanks, honey." Anna (looking horrified): "B-but you bleed all da time!!" No, not really....that's all I need her telling people in day care.....
"Look, mom, I'm a robot!" |
- Me: "Anna, I am going to the grocery store now. Can you come with me and be my helper?" Anna: "No, I'm not going to the store. I'm gonna stay with Mama Heidi. She needs friends, right?"
- I'm getting ready to go somewhere. Me: "Bye, Anna, I love you and I'll be home soon." Anna: "But you can't go! I like you!"
- Mama Heidi experiences some knee pain getting up from the couch. She mumbles something about it. Anna (incredulously): "Your damn knees are broken, Mama Heidi?!" LOL. That girl has supersonic hearing!
This made my night Aunt Courtney! I laughed so hard. :) <3
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked it! She cracks me up. Every time I think I might run out of some material for this blog, I am reminded not to worry because she's always coming up with something else that's funny. :)
