I saw this article posted on Facebook yesterday and the lively comments that followed the post got me wondering what MLWP readers would think about this. Is this amazingly expansive family a wonderful thing? Or is 20 kids too many? Who is to say how many is too many? Ordinarily, I'd probably be of the view that it's nobody's business, but if you're going to chronicle your life on a TV show, some of that is just to be expected.

The views I read yesterday ranged from thinking it's wonderful because they seem to do a good job raising the kids and they're not expecting outside help, to thinking it's nuts because it would be nearly impossible to ensure that each of the kids receive enough quality time with mom and dad. I'm sure there's more to it than this, and I'd love to hear from YOU. So please read about it and weigh in on the blog!
Not a fan of the show or the family because of a comment mom made during an interview once. She said she was thankful the Lord blessed her with a "heap" of girls first because she doesn't know how she would manage the younger boys and hte little ones without all the big girls.
ReplyDeleteThat's ridiculous. You can't keep popping out kids and make your older kids instant, unpaid babysitters. Don't they get to enjoy being kids too? And of course it has to be the girls babysitting....
ReplyDeleteIt makes me think of the movie Horton hears a who. The Mayor has so many kids he has a 30 second time for "quality" time for each kid. If you haven't seen the movie yet you really should despite the over population of mini mayor whos Izzy loves it!
ReplyDeleteLOL. I will have to check it out! I loved the book when I was a kid and didn't know they made it into a movie! Haha. Must be a lot like this family, though....too crazy & busy!
