More Gems

I've been gradually compiling another list of Anna-isms to share with you. One thing I'm noticing is that her thought processes are getting much more elaborate.

The stories she comes up with, which you can tell she is inventing as she goes, are remarkable. ("...And one time, there was a cayman, and he swam all the way around the river until he got to the blocks and he couldn't go across but we saw him and we yelled, "Monster!" and we ran and ran until we got back to school and put away our telescopes and ate popcorn.")

Or something like that.

I've got LOTS to say....

Here are the latest gems, and once again, I encourage you to send me your child's for publication as well. I'm sure they are plentiful!

• "Be careful on the road, mom, there are dolphins, and sea things, and things, and pincher crabs too, okay?"
• Heidi (to Anna, who is crying): "Can I give you a kiss to make it better?"  Anna (wiping away tears): "Hold on, I have to wipe off my feelings."  Awww.
• Mama T: "Anna, you say the funniest things sometimes."  Anna: "I say things??"
• Heidi (as Anna is painting recklessly with water colors): "Anna, you're making a mess of the colors."  Anna:  "That's what I do." Indeed. :)

• (Resisting wearing a diaper at bedtime) "No, I don't want a squishy diaper! Because I pee a lot. And crevices come out of things and stuff."
• (On potty and staring intently at me) "I need a big favor. I need things to eat, like bugs and leaves and trees like Angelica. She's on Rugrats."
• "Oh no, my telescope ran out of gas! What am I going to do?  What about the children? They will be so upset!"
• (As we are riding bikes/trikes in the driveway) "Come on, mom, it's just you, me, and the open ride." 
• (Squeezing me tight):  "I just love you for a zillion illion years, mom."  Me too, kiddo.
