Chillin' with her new book |
It was completely adorable. The Lorax is her new favorite book. First, she saw the movie with Mama Heidi for her first big theater movie, then we checked the book out of the library, and then we watched the old cartoon version of it on YouTube (which has spawned repeated singing of, "Grickle-grass, grickle-grass, somebody lifted the Lorax awaaaayyyyyy"). Finally, I broke down and bought her her very own copy of the book when we had to return the borrowed one.
So, on this particular evening, Anna started putting on a show for me and attempting to do special voices for the characters, as I sometimes do. Here's her as the Lorax, fussing at the Once-ler:
"What's that THING you made out of my truffula tuft?!" |
It's my goal to one day get this on video because it's so cool that she can recite so much of the book from memory, and it hasn't been that long that we've been reading it! When we get to a part she doesn't quite know yet, I get a turn to read (and she apparently gets a turn with the camera):
What books do your kids like "reading" to you? If you have any cute reading stories, please share them in the comments.
Happy Friday!
