Photos of the Week: Lemurs!!

I'll get right to it:  our kid has a strange affinity for lemurs.

That's them, the weird-looking but strangely cute little fuzzy beings native to the island of Madagascar. Thanks to the movie of the same name (and Madagascar 2, The Penguins of Madagascar, and the soon to be released 3rd Madagascar movie), these little primates are a sensation.

Anna with her lemurs and (in a headlock) penguin Skipper

Since becoming obsessed with these films, Anna's favorite pastime has been to "play lemur." This entails King Julien, the leader of the lemurs, and Skipper (a penguin) being the parents of Mort (the "annoying" little mouse lemur).  Anna always wants me to voice King Julien and Skipper.

Now, I'm not bad at imitations. In fact, if I do say so myself, I did an excellent impression of King Julien....that is, before I was asked to do it all the time - and I do mean ALL the time! For some reason, the frequency of the expectation has turned my good impression into something a little off. I think I do a better version of Mort than King Julien. Maybe one day I'll post a video and let you guys be the judge.

But hey, Anna's not a tough audience and if she's happy, I'm happy. Besides, it's not all that easy to follow in the footsteps of Sacha Baron Cohen!
